Svetlana Rasuleva
Inspiration from the curved, surf-worn shape of a large piece of teal sea glass inspired Svetlana Rasuleva's new passion for sea glass.
Rasuleva has been living in Majorca (Spanish Mallorca), the largest of the Balearic Islands located off the east coast of Spain, for 10 years. She is an artist who loves the sea and often takes walks along the beach near her home. It is located near an old village where many ships would pass.
About 4 years ago she became curious about the pieces of sea glass that she would come across.
"I never considered that some day I would be making jewelry using these sea glass gems," she says. "But after surfing the internet and learning the history of sea glass from people around the world, I became addicted!"

The area in Spain where Rasuleva collects sea glass has an ancient history, near an old village where merchant ships would pass by.
As an artist Rasuleva is inspired by "the beauty, colors, and nature of the Mediterranean Sea." One day during her walk, she found several curved shards of teal sea glass.
"I held them in my hands, and suddenly I had an idea to create a seahorse," says Rasuleva, who explains "I adore the seahorse. I consider it to be a unique and mythical sea creature."

"I did not even imagine it could work out until I finished it," she says.
Rasuleva now sells her sea glass pendants and other creations on Etsy.com under the Shop ID Palmeras.
